SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Left fielder
Chase Davis crushed two opposite-field home runs as the Arizona Wildcats (2-1) powered past the Michigan State Spartans (2-1) on a final score of 7-1 on Sunday night at Salt River Fields.
Davis's first two home runs of the season helped fuel a seven-run, 10-hit, six-walk performance from the Wildcats offense, their best showing of the year.
Starting pitcher
Bradon Zastrow (1-0), making his Arizona debut, worked 5.1 innings and held Michigan State to just one run on four hits. He struck out five en route to earning the win.
The Wildcats bullpen was lights out for the second time this weekend, with right-handers
Dawson Netz and
Chris Barraza holding the Spartans scoreless on one hit with six strikeouts.
