Susie Parra Named 2023 Pac-12 Hall of Honor Inductee

TUCSON, Ariz. – One of Arizona Softball's most decorated champions will add to her long list of accomplishments as the Pac-12 Conference has announced its 2023 Hall of Honor class, which includes former Wildcat pitcher Susie Parra. The 2023 class is the conference's first-ever all-female induction class as part of the Pac-12's ongoing celebration of the 50th anniversary of Title IX.

Parra was a member of three national championship teams at Arizona and a three-time All-American as well as being the 1994 National Player of the Year. She guided the Wildcats to a pair of Pac-10 conference championships and was also the Pac-10 Player of the Year as a senior. Parra was inducted into the University of Arizona Sports Hall of Fame in 1999.

Her greatness in the circle still holds the third-highest career winning percentage in NCAA history at .918, and the fifth-highest winning percentage in a season which she set during the 1994 national championship campaign after going 33-1. Parra also still holds the program record for ERA in a season with a mark of 0.30 set in 1992. She also continues to rank in the top 10 in program history in career ERA, no-hitters, shutouts, strikeouts, victories and innings pitched.

The Arizona native will become the first softball letterwinner ever inducted into the Pac-12 Hall of Honor, which was founded in 2002 and began inducting student-athletes from all sports in 2018.

Parra will be officially inducted during the Pac-12 Women's Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas with an official ceremony before the semifinals on Friday, March 3 at the Michelob Ultra Arena inside Mandalay Bay.
