WALNUT, Calif. – Talie Bonds and
Jordan Geist led the way for Arizona Track and Field as they wrapped up the Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday. The two won their invitational events, with Bonds breaking her own school record and Geist setting a national leading mark.

FIELD HIGHLIGHTS
Jordan Geist won the men's invitational shot put, posting a season best toss of 21.25m (69-8.75). Geist is the first collegiate thrower to go over 21m (which he did twice) in the event this outdoor season as this new mark now leads the nation. Geist also placed eighth earlier in the day in the men's collegiate hammer throw with a heave of 64.89m (212-10). After today's results, he leads the nation in both the shot put and the hammer throw.

Youssef Koudssi had a big personal best throw of 19.50m (63-11.75) to place fifth in the shot put invitational as well. That's the first time Koudssi has cleared 19m and puts him eighth all-time in school history. Additionally, that mark is currently the ninth best in the nation.

In the men's invitational high jump,
Kristjan Sigfinnsson cleared a big outdoor PR height of 2.15m (7-0.5) to finish sixth overall.

In the women's invitational high jump,
Alexa Porpaczy cleared a height of 1.78m (5-10) and finished seventh overall. Additionally,
Emma Gates cleared a height of 1.73m (5-8) in the event.

Ava David started the day for the Wildcats, posting a throw of 56.66m (185-10) in the women's collegiate hammer throw.

TRACK HIGHLIGHTS
After breaking the school record in the 100m hurdles last weekend,
Talie Bonds followed up her performance by lowering that record and improving her personal best time to 12.65 in the women's invitational portion of the event today. Bonds won the hurdles for the third straight weekend as she continues her dominant outdoor season. She is also currently third in the nation for the event as well.

In the men's invitational 4x100m relay, the Arizona team of
Trayvion White-Austin,
Brian Limage,
Carl Hicks, and
James Onanubosi placed fifth overall with a time of 39.60. The team also won their heat in the event. In the women's portion of the event, Arizona's team of
Neysia Howard,
Jenica Bosko,
Lauryn Ford, and
Taylen Wise clocked a time of 45.22.

Alisa Lyesina ran a time of 2:06.11 and finished 10th in the women's invitational 800m.

To end the day, the Arizona Men placed ninth in the invitational 4x400m, clocking a time of 3:07.37. The team was comprised of
Carl Hicks,
Trayvion White-Austin,
Logan Hasher, and
Isaac Davis.

The Wildcats will have a week of rest and recovery before their next meet, the Desert Heat Classic, at Drachman Stadium on April 29. The Wildcats will also send
Jordan Geist to the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Penn., on April 26-29 for a chance to compete in his home state at the big national meet.
