TUCSON, Ariz. — Powered by a pair of grand slams, the Arizona Wildcats (21-15, 8-12) cruised past the Utah Utes (14-23-1, 4-15-1) to a 19-2 victory and a series win on Saturday night at Hi Corbett Field.
Third baseman
Tony Bullard led the offensive onslaught with six RBI, followed close behind by second baseman
Mason White and shortstop
Nik McClaughry who each had five RBI. Bullard and White hit grand slams, and Bullard has now logged five home runs in his last four contests.
Offense wasn't the only thing going right for the Wildcats on Saturday night, as the pitching staff limited the Utes to just two runs on five hits. Starting pitcher
Bradon Zastrow earned the win and improved to 4-2 with six innings of two-hit, shutout work.
Right-handers Anthony Susac and
Casey Hintz both worked scoreless innings in relief, allowing just one combined hit while striking out three.
