Chase Davis Honored as Pac-12 Player of the Week

TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona star outfielder Chase Davis has earned his first career Pac-12 Player of the Week selection, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.

Davis is the third Wildcat to earn weekly honors from the Pac-12 this season, following first baseman Kiko Romero last month and right-handed pitcher TJ Nichols in February.

Across four games, in which the Wildcats posted a perfect 4-0 record, Davis hit .688 with seven runs scored, 11 hits, two doubles, one triple, two home runs, and nine RBI. He led the team in batting average, hits, extra-base hits, total bases, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage over that stretch. Davis' performance was one of many standout efforts that led the Wildcats to a 20-0 victory over rival Arizona State last Wednesday and a three-game sweep of Utah over the weekend at Hi Corbett Field.

The Elk Grove, California native opened the week with a massive performance on Wednesday, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored, one double, one home run, and a season-high five RBI as the Wildcats rolled the Sun Devils, 20-0. He followed it up with three more multi-hit performances against Utah, including another home run in Sunday's series finale that gave him 32 for his career and moved him into a tie for eighth place on the program leaderboard.

Overall, Davis scored at least one run, drove in one or more RBI, and collected multiple hits in all four of Arizona's games last week. He extended his career-long on-base streak to 36 games in the process.

Davis was also a key contributor on defense, posting an unblemished 1.000 fielding percentage on nine chances with an outfield assist throwing a runner out at home.

Davis and the Wildcats are back in action on Tuesday, April 25 at home against New Mexico. First pitch from Hi Corbett Field is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. MST. Tickets are available for purchase and can be secured by visiting ArizonaWildcats.com/BSB or by calling 520-621-CATS.
