Wildcats Beat Lobos to Complete Perfect Homestand

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats (23-15) closed out an undefeated homestand with an 11-8 victory over the visiting New Mexico Lobos (19-17) on Tuesday night at Hi Corbett Field.

The Cats came away victorious in all five games at home over the last week, and have won nine of their last 11.

Arizona's offense continued to click, with every single member of the starting lineup recording a hit and six players logging multiple knocks. Shortstop Nik McClaughry, left fielder Chase Davis, right fielder Emilio Corona, and third baseman Tony Bullard all drove in two runs for the Wildcats.

Starting pitcher Cam Walty (3-0), in a predetermined short appearance, earned the win after striking out a pair over one inning of work.

From the fourth inning to the end of the game, the Arizona bullpen was represented by five right-handers who combined to limit the Lobos to just one run on four hits while striking out nine. Chris Barraza worked the ninth, striking out one and earning his first save in an Arizona uniform.
