CORVALLIS, Ore. — Three home runs for right fielder
Emilio Corona weren't enough to push the Arizona Wildcats (23-18, 9-15) past the No. 22 Oregon State Beavers (30-13, 14-10) on Sunday afternoon at Goss Stadium.
The Wildcats fell 11-10 on a walk-off for the second time on the weekend after rallying for a late two-run lead courtesy of Corona's third home run of the day in the top of the ninth inning.
Corona's career day led the Arizona offense, who returned to their red hot form from previous weeks. The Cats banged out 11 runs and scored four more runs than any other visiting team managed at Goss Stadium this year.
Starting pitcher
Aiden May was dominant for the Wildcats, striking out a career-high nine batters over six innings of two-run work. He did not factor into the decision.
