TUCSON, Ariz. — One pitch was all
Emilio Corona needed to send the Arizona Wildcats (26-20) to a 10-9 victory over the Nevada Wolf Pack (18-28) on Wednesday night at Hi Corbett Field. Corona smacked a walk-off home run to straightaway center to give the Cats their second straight walk-off victory.
Corona's game winner was the Wildcats fifth home run of the night. Left fielder
Chase Davis swatted a pair, while first baseman
Kiko Romero and center fielder
Mac Bingham also left the yard. It marked the second five-homer game of the year for Arizona, with the first being their 20-0 rout of Arizona State on April 19.
Arizona's win on Wednesday gave them a winning homestand, having taken 3-of-4 games from Air Force and Nevada.
Starting pitcher Anthony Susac did not factor into the decision after working 1.2 innings to open the game; the right-hander struck out four Wolf Pack batters.
Fellow right-handers
Dawson Netz and
Trevor Long both worked scoreless innings out of the Wildcats bullpen.
