Skaggs’ Defensive Player of the Year Honor Highlights Pac-12 Postseason Awards

TUCSON, Ariz. – Five Wildcats were named to the All-Pac-12 teams announced Wednesday by the conference. Dakota Kennedy and Allie Skaggs were named first-team All-Pac-12 while Olivia DiNardo and Devyn Netz were selected to the second-team. Tayler Biehl, DiNardo, and Kennedy were selected to the All-Freshman team. Skaggs was also named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and was selected to the All-Defensive team.

Allie Skaggs becomes Arizona's first Defensive Player of the Year since Hallie Wilson in 2015 and is Arizona's fourth Defensive Player of the Year since the award began in 2005. She is receiving her first career selection to the All-Pac-12 first team and All-Defensive team. The junior second baseman has committed zero errors in 162 chances during the regular season for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. She leads the team and the Pac-12 with 59 RBI, 1.13 RBI/game, and 36 walks. This season, Skaggs has hit 13 home runs – three of which have been grand slams – and has hit 10 doubles to lead Arizona.
 
Dakota Kennedy is a first-team All-Pac-12 and All-Freshman team honoree for the first time in her career. Kennedy is fourth in the Pac-12 with 50 hits and ranks 10th in the conference with a .636 slugging percentage. She has hit 10 home runs to rank 11th in the conference, and second among Pac-12 freshmen. Kennedy's .451 on-base percentage ranks 14th in the Pac-12 and she is 9-for-9 in stolen bases this season. In conference play, Kennedy led Arizona with a .394 hitting percentage.
 
Olivia DiNardo is receiving second team all-conference and All-Freshman honors for the first time in her career. DiNardo is leading the team and is ninth in the conference with a .388 batting average. She ranks 11th in the Pac-12 with a 456 on-base percentage and 14th with 10 doubles. DiNardo also leads the Wildcats with 59 hits which ranks sixth in the conference. Earlier this season, DiNardo earned Pac-12 Player and Freshman of the Week and NFCA Player of the Week honors.
 
Devyn Netz has been named second team All-Pac-12 for the first time in her career. She is hitting .312 with 13 home runs and 38 RBI. Her 13 home runs leads the team and ranks fourth in the conference. Netz is slugging .609 to rank 16th in the Pac-12 and has struck out 123 batters which ranks sixth in the conference. She has also earned Pac-12 Player of the Week honors.
 
Tayler Biehl is receiving All-Freshman honors. Biehl has tallied 28 hits, four doubles, two triples, and 13 RBI this season. She is 6-for-7 in stolen base attempts and has played four positions for Arizona.
