Tetairoa McMillan has been named a finalist for the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year, as announced today by the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame.

McMillan is among six finalists for the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award. The other finalists include Spencer Fano (OL, Utah), Leif Fautanu (OL, ASU), Nico Iamaleava (QB, Tennessee), J.T. Tuimoloau (DL, Ohio State), and Matayo Uiagalelei (DL, Oregon). McMillan is a finalist for the second consecutive year as one of two players (J.T. Tuimoloau, OSU) to make back-to-back finalist appearances.Â

The Finalists were selected from a Watch List of nearly 100 players by the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee which includes former NFL Player and Inaugural Inductee Jack "The Throwin' Samoan" Thompson (Chairman), Coaches Ron McBride and Dick Vermeil, former NFL Player and Inaugural Inductee Olin Kreutz, Inaugural Inductee and past NFLPA president Kevin Mawae, former NFL Player and Class of 2015 Inductee Ray Schoenke, former ESPN Sportscaster Neil Everett, and Chief National Reporter for NFL Network Steve Wyche.

McMillan adds another to his collection of postseason honors, which include Biletnikoff Award Finalist, First-Team All-Big 12, Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Honorable Mention, PFF Biletnikoff Award, and PFF First-Team All-American. He made 84 receptions for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns, leading the Big 12 in total yards and yards per game. McMillan finished third in receiving yards and ninth in receptions nationally.

This honor follows a season that included McMillan moving into first in program history in career-receiving yards (3,423). Also, McMillan is now third in program history in career-receiving touchdowns (26). Teammates McMillan and Fifita were selected to the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Watch List back in August.Â

The winner of the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award will be announced on December 19, 2024. The formal presentation of the Award will be held at the 2025 Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Celebration Dinner (January 18, 2025) and they will be recognized during the Polynesian Bowl (January 17, 2025).
