TUCSON, Ariz. - The Arizona men's basketball team closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule with a commanding 94-41 victory over Central Michigan on Saturday at the McKale Center.
Caleb Love scored a game-high 24 points, including 20 in the first half, and
KJ Lewis added 13 points off the bench for the Wildcats.
Arizona (6-5) had 28 assists on 36 made field goals and only turned the ball over 10 times while forcing CMU (5-6) into 17 turnovers.
As a team, Arizona shot 54.5% overall from the floor - 61.8% in the second half alone - while the Chippewas connected at just a 25.9% clip.
The Wildcats took a 44-23 lead into the locker room at halftime and then put the clamps down defensively in the second half, holding CMU to just 18 points on 5 of 29 shooting. Arizona scored 50 points in the second half, the eighth time scoring 50 or more in a half this season.
Tobe Awaka finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds, his third double-double of the season.
Conrad Martinez chipped in with nine points and five assists off the bench along with eight points and five assists from
Carter Bryant.
