Fast-Paced Wildcats Pickup 107-85 Win Over Ukraine

KEDAINIAI, Lithuania – The Arizona men's basketball team jumped out to an early lead against Ukraine and cruised to a 107-85 win at Kedainiu Arena in the second game of the team's Lithuania Summer Tour.
Ivan Kharchenkov led Arizona with 24 points and also added six rebounds and three steals. Ugnius Jarusevicius scored 20 points on 8 of 11 shooting and also chipped in six rebounds. Freshman Caleb Holt finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds along with three assists and three steals.
Arizona jumped out to a 33-24 lead after the first quarter and held a 17-point advantage at halftime. When Ukraine cut the Wildcats lead to 10 points in the third quarter, Arizona responded and regained control with a steady offensive attack and rebounding.
Derek Dixon tallied 18 points and ran the team to the tune of five assists and zero turnovers with a plus-minus of +34 in less than 20 minutes of action. Motiejus Krivas scored 16 points while Bryce James and Cameron Holmes both added five points.
As a team, Arizona shot 53% from the floor and 8 of 15 from the 3-point line while holding Ukraine to 42% shooting overall and 32% from the 3-point line.
The Wildcats dominated in the paint, scoring 56 points around the basket and also getting out in transition to score 23 fast break points.
The final game of the trip will take place Saturday, Aug. 22 at 9:30 a.m. MST against the Lithuania Senior National Team. The game will be live streamed via @ArizonaMBB YouTube channel.
