Box Score TUCSON, Ariz. -- A shorthanded Arizona fell to Grand Canyon in a back-and-forth game by just three points in their first home game loss.
Breya Cunningham led the Cats with a career-high 20 points and 6 rebounds.
Paulina Paris followed with 12 points and four rebounds.
Jada Williams and
Lauryn Swann contributed 11 points each for the night. Swann scored a total of three of Arizona's five three-point attempts.
Defensively, the Cats had 15 points from turnovers and 12 steals. Williams contributed 4 steals and Cunningham added 3 blocks. As a team, Arizona shot 44.1% from the field.
The Cats held the Lopes to 12 points in the first quarter of the game. Arizona held on to the lead to complete the first half, 36-31. The Wildcats fell short in the last two quarters, in a highly contested game.
