TUCSON, Ariz. – The Wildcats picked up their fourth win of the season with a run-rule shutout of North Texas. Arizona scored eight runs on eight hits in five innings against the Mean Green.
Aissa Silva picked up her second win in the circle. She allowed only one hit in 4.1 innings and struck out a career-high eight batters.
Brooke Mannon entered in the top of the fifth inning and struck out one of the two batters she faced.
Blaise Biringer and Olivia Dinardo had two hits each.
Kaiah Altmeyer led the team with three RBI in just one at-bat while
Tayler Biehl and
Carlie Scupin each drove in two runs.
The Wildcats scored their first run in the second inning on a sacrifice fly from Altmeyer before exploding for six runs in the third.
In the third, Scupin hit a two-run home run – her third of the season – to open up the scoring. Altmeyer drove in two runs with an RBI single and Biehl plated two more on a fielder's choice.
DiNardo hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to extend Arizona's lead to 8-0. In the top of the fifth, Silva and Mannon retired the side to secure the win for the Cats.

Arizona will close out the Candrea Classic against Northern Colorado on Sunday, Feb. 11. Due to the weather, the game times for the first two games on Sunday have been delayed by 30 minutes each.
