SAN RAMON, Calif. – The Pac-12 Conference announced that Arizona wing
Pelle Larsson is this week's Player of the Week, the first weekly award for the native of Sweden.
Larsson is the fourth different Wildcat to be named player of the week this season, matching the most by a team in a season in league history (Arizona – 2008-09, 2000-01, 1997-98; Arizona State – 2018-19). Click here to check out the entire history of the Pac-12 weekly awards.
Kylan Boswell earned the award on Nov. 13,
Oumar Ballo on Dec. 26 and
Caleb Love on Jan. 8.
Last week, Larsson and Arizona brought home wins at Utah and at Colorado, handing both teams their first home losses of the season. In the two games, Larsson averaged 22.5 points, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals while shooting 61% from the floor.
He scored a career-high 27 points at Utah and also handed out a career-high eight assists in the triple overtime victory. He added 18 points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists in the 20-point win at Colorado on Saturday.
This marks the 113
th time that a Wildcat has been named player of the week, the top total among all conference schools. UCLA is second with 87.
