SAN DIEGO, Calif. — The Arizona Wildcats (3-3) fell to the San Diego Toreros (4-2) on a final score of 6-4 on Saturday night at Fowler Park.
Starting pitcher
Clark Candiotti turned in a strong performance on the mound, working 5.0 innings and surrendering just two runs on five hits. The right-hander struck out six Toreros along the way but did not factor into the decision.
The Wildcats struck first on offense, capitalizing on Toreros miscues in the top of the second to plate three runs. San Diego pulled ahead with a four-run seventh.
Freshman designated hitter
Easton Breyfogle answered with a solo home run in the top of the eighth, but ultimately the Wildcats could not complete the comeback.
