TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – No. 19 Arizona lost in a 1-0 decision to No. 10 Alabama before winning 9-3 against Northern Iowa in the nightcap.

Arizona dropped the first game of the day to Alabama, 1-0. Arizona tallied three hits but left seven runners on base against the Crimson Tide.
Both teams were scoreless though the first three-and-a-half innings until Alabama hit a solo home run in the fourth inning.
Arizona was able to get six runners on base through the rest of the game but couldn't tie the game.
Miranda Stoddard picked up the loss to fall to 2-2 on the season. She went 4.2 innings but gave up the game-winning home run in relief for
Brooke Mannon. Mannon pitched the first 1.1 innings, allowing just one hit before Stoddard entered the circle.
Game 2 | No. 19 Arizona 9, UNI 3
The Wildcats closed out the day with a 9-2 win over Northern Iowa. Arizona scored 9 runs on 14 hits and
Carlie Scupin recorded a career-high-tying three hits.
Arizona scored one in the first on an RBI groundout from
Olivia DiNardo.
In the second inning,
Kaiah Altmeyer drew a bases-loaded walk to plate another run for the Cats.
Carlie Scupin followed with a two-RBI single to score
Dakota Kennedy and Altmeyer to give Arizona a 4-0 lead. In the bottom of the second, UNI scored one on a double.
Allie Skaggs drove in
Blaise Biringer on an RBI single in the third inning for Arizona's fifth run of the game. UNI took advantage of a throwing error to score their second run in the bottom of the third.
In the fourth, Arizona scored four runs for a 9-2 lead over the Panthers. A pair of RBI singles from Scupin and Skaggs plated three runs for the Cats.
Paige Dimler drove in Scupin for Arizona's fourth run of the inning.
In the seventh, UNI scored one more before Arizona made the final out of the game.
In the circle, Silva went 3.0 innings, striking out five but allowing one run on two hits. Silva picked up the win to improve to 9-1. Mannon entered in relief in the fourth and did not allow a hit for UNI in 3.0 innings.
Ali Blanchard faced two batters in the seventh before Silva re-entered to close out the game.
