Men's Swimming and Diving Rounds Off NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Arizona Men's Swimming and Diving walk out of a highly competitive week of competition with two relay Honorable Mention All-Americans on the swim side and a top-eight finish on the dive side. 

Saturday 

After four days of racing, the Wildcats sent three into prelim rounds: Naughton in the 200 Fly (35th, 1:43.15), Daleiden in the 100 Free (33rd, 42.24) and DuBois in the platform dive (35th, 286.00). Arizona wrapped up the championships with a 19th place finish (2:50.03) in the 400 Free Relay from Daleiden, Nabor, Naughton and Palmer.  

Friday 

Arizona had four Cats competing in prelim rounds Friday morning: Naughton (40th, 46.56) and Palmer (41st, 46.64) in the 100 Fly, Daleiden (24th, 1:32.75) in the 200 Free and DuBois (25th, 343.30) in the 3m dive. Despite missing out in individual finals, Arizona grabbed their second Honorable Mention All-American in the 400 Medley Relay with a 15th place finish from Hardy, Foote, Nabor and Daleiden (3:05.80).  

Thursday 

Arizona's Gage DuBois led Arizona on Thursday with a 6th place overall finish in the 1-Meter dive. The red-shirt freshman took fourth place in preliminary rounds with a score of 371.45, raising that score by just over ten points (381.95) to take sixth in the championship final that evening. DuBois holds the Cats only top-eight finish of the week, putting up 13 points for Arizona. Haakon Naughton competed in the 200 IM, taking 56th in prelims (1:47.13), Palmer and Ralph Daleiden competed in the 50 Free, taking 28th (19.28) and 40th (19.51). The Wildcats capped off Thursday night with a 21st place finish in the 200 Free Relay from Palmer, Miller, Daleiden and Jadan Nabor (1:16.89).  

Wednesday 

Day one of racing began with the 200 Medley and 800 Free relays, the latter the Cats did not compete in. Wildcats Ryan Hardy, Ryan Foote, Seth Miller and Tommy Palmer swam the 200 Med for Arizona, clocking 1:23.89 and taking 16th overall. The relay team secured two points with the finish- grabbing the last scoring spot and an Honorable Mention All-American.
