PHOENIX, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats (21-14) mounted a ninth-inning comeback effort but fell just one run short, ultimately dropping their midweek tilt at Grand Canyon (20-16) on a final score of 5-4.
The Wildcats entered the top of the ninth inning trailing the Antelopes 2-5 and managed to score two runs, cut the deficit to just one, and put the tying and go-ahead runners in scoring position but couldn't complete the comeback.

Bradon Zastrow (1-2) took the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) across 1.1 innings of work.Â
Arizona's bullpen carried the load on Tuesday, working 6.2 innings and holding Grand Canyon to just two runs on five hits while striking out six.
