WALNUT, Calif. –  Arizona Track & Field completed the final day of the Mt. SAC Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium on Saturday.

The team faced great competition throughout the meet in both collegiate and elite invitational events. Highlights of the day included Emma Gates grabbing a top-three finish in the high jump invitational with a personal best clearance, Antonia Sanchez Nunez moving up to seventh all-time in school history in the 400m hurdles, and Trayvion White-Austin clocking a 100m time just 0.01 seconds off his school record in the event from earlier in the outdoor season.

"This was a nice kickoff to the championship season for our programs," said Head Coach Fred Harvey. "Having personal bests during this time of the season, against some of the best competition in the world is big time. You have to compete at your highest level when it matters. We have three weeks until the Pac-12 Championships and we are proving to be a top tier program."
 
TOP-THREE FINISHES
Emma Gates – Third, Women's Elite High Jump Invitational, 5-11.5 (1.82m)

FIELD HIGHLIGHTS
In the women's elite high jump invitational, Emma Gates secured the Wildcats' first top-three finish on the day. Gates cleared a personal best height of 5-11.5 (1.82m) to finish third overall.
 
Reinaldo Rodrigues finished in fifth place in the men's elite long jump invitational, posting a leap of 25-7.25 (7.80m). In the women's elite long jump invitational, Jenica Bosko placed seventh overall with a jump of 20-2.25 (6.15m).
 
Michael Ogbeiwi picked up his second big personal best performance of the weekend in the men's collegiate hammer throw. After improving his personal record in the shot put yesterday, Ogbeiwi finished seventh in the day's hammer throw event with a personal best heave of 202-9 (61.81m). That mark surpassed his previous best by over seven feet.
 
Tapenisa Havea finished seventh overall in the women's elite shot put invitational with a throw of 53-2.25 (16.21m). Havea also placed 10th in the women's elite discus invitational with a heave of 171-1 (52.15m).
 
Ava David started off the day for the Wildcats with a ninth-place finish in the women's collegiate hammer throw. Her best toss of the day was 183-10 (56.04m).
 
TRACK HIGHLIGHTS
Trayvion White-Austin clocked a time of 10.15 in the men's elite 100m invitational to place fifth overall. That time is just 0.01 seconds off his personal best and school record in the event, which he set earlier this outdoor season. Tyson Tippett also ran an Arizona personal best time of 10.22 to place 10th in the event.
 
In the women's elite 400m hurdles invitational, Antonia Sanchez Nunez ran a big personal best time of 57.14 to place seventh overall. That time moves Sanchez Nunez up to seventh all-time in school history in the event. Additionally, she has now produced three straight sub-58 second performances in the 400m hurdles.
 
In the men's elite 4x100m relay invitational, Arizona's team of Tyson Tippett, Trayvion White-Austin, Brian Limage, and James Onanubosi clocked a time of 39.39 to place fourth overall.
 
The Arizona Women finished sixth overall in the women's elite 4x400m relay invitational with a season best time of 3:37.37. The team consisted of Antonia Sanchez Nunez, Keilee Hall, Camila Aguilar-Perez, and Ava Simms.
 
Former Wildcat Talie Bonds won the women's elite 100m hurdles invitational with a time of 12.76.
 
UP NEXT
The Wildcats will return home to Drachman Stadium for their last regular season home meet, the Desert Heat Classic, on Saturday, April 27.
