TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona native Gage DuBois has been named the Pac-12 Men's Diving Freshman of the Year for the 2023-24 season.
The honor comes after an incredible year for the red-shirt freshman who is now a three-time NCAA qualifier, first-team All-American and a two-time podium finisher.
Over the course of the season, DuBois tallied eight first place finishes during conference dual meet action in the 1-meter and 3-meter events. At his first Pac-12 Championships in March, DuBois took second place in the platform final with 370.70 and third in the 1m with 357.80.
Working his way through post-season competition, DuBois then went on to qualify for NCAAs in all three events after a remarkable run at Zones. It was in Indianapolis where the diver took fourth place in 1m preliminary rounds with a score of 371.45, securing himself a spot in the championship final where he upped his score to 381.95, taking sixth overall. This national championship performance earned DuBois a First Team All-America honor to cap off the year.
Prior to joining the Wildcats, DuBois was the 2019 USA Diving Junior Regional Champion in the 1m and platform dives, and a four-time USA Diving Junior National Championship qualifier (2017,18,19,21).
DuBois is coached by two-time Pac-12 Diving Coach of the Year Dwight Dumais and assistant coach Daniel Pinto.
