TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Softball's
Regan Shockey has been named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the third time this season, announced by the league office on Monday.
In Arizona's series at Utah, Shockey recorded a .417 batting average (5-for-12) with one double and drove in two runs to help the Wildcats win the series over the Utes.
Shockey record a career-high four hits to help the Wildcats to an extra-inning victory to tie the series in the second game. She also hit her first career double in the game.
The freshman from Chine Hills, Calif. ranks third in the Pac-12 and 19th in the nation in hits (54) among all players. She leads the conference and ranks fifth among NCAA freshman in batting average (.415).
This is the first time an Arizona freshman has been named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors three times since Jessie Harper in 2017.
