TUCSON, Ariz. —The Arizona Wildcats (36-22) dropped their opening game in the Tucson NCAA Regional on Friday night on a final score of 9-4 to the Grand Canyon Antelopes (35-23).
The gates of Hi Corbett Field welcomed a record 8,798 fans through the gates on Friday night, a capacity crowd.

Mason White (2-for-4, 2B) and center fielder
Brendan Summerhill (1-for-3, 2 BB) led the way for Arizona on offense, reaching base a combined five times.
Starting pitcher
Clark Candiotti (7-4) was tagged with the loss for the Wildcats; the right-hander punched out five across six innings of work.
Arizona looks to keep their season going in an elimination game against Dallas Baptist on Saturday afternoon.
