The Arizona men's golf team, ranked No. 11 in the latest team rankings from Scoreboard, opened the Southwestern Invitational with a team score of 14-over par 298 at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif. The score leaves the team in 12th place with two more rounds remaining. 

Johnny Walker got off to a 1-under front nine start and finished at 3-over par. Griffin Rhoads and Tianyi Xiong also both carded 3-over par to tie for 35th. Xiong had five birdies and an eagle on his round.

Zach Pollo and Filip Jakubcik both shot 5-over par and are tied for 50th. Zach had four birdies in his round on day one.
