Wildcats Take Runner-Up at The Big 12 Championship

Arizona Men's Golf wrapped up the final round of the Big 12 Championship on Wednesday, finishing the tournament at 2-under par overall. The Wildcats battled through a challenging final round and were able to secure the runner-up spot.

Leading the way for Arizona was Filip Jakubcik, who finished at 3-under overall after carding an even-par round. Jakubcik's consistent play throughout the tournament helped anchor the Wildcats and he finished in a tie for sixth.

William Wistrand finished even-par overall following a 3-over round in the final round, while Zach Pollo came in at 1-over overall after a 5-over day. Wistrand finished inside the top ten and Pollo finished tied for 11th.

Tianyi Xiong closed at 8-over overall with an even-par round, providing stability in the lineup, while Taishi Moto finished at 11-over overall after a 7-over round.

Arizona finished the best par four and par five scoring averages after 54-holes. They tied for the most eagles and tied for the second most birdies in total. Jakubcik played the par fours at 5-under par which was the best in the field. Wistrand had the second best par five scoring average with the help of three eagles on par fives this week.

Next up for the Wildcats is the NCAA Regionals in which Tucson will be one of the host sites next week.
