TUCSON, ARIZ. — Ralph Daleiden and Gage DuBois took home weekly Big 12 awards for Arizona after impressive performances in the Wildcats' meet against BYU.
Daleiden is the first Arizona swimmer to earn the Big 12's "Swimmer of the Week" award. At the late December meet against the Cougars, Daleiden earned the top times in the 100 Free (43.34) and 200 Free (1:33.64) events, finishing nearly four seconds ahead of the second place competitor in the 200 Free. In addition to these victories, the Olympian was also the anchor leg in two first-place relay teams, contributing to the Arizona men's team sweep of first place in every swimming event against BYU.
DuBois, who was named Big 12 "Diver of the Week" for the third time this season, swept the men's diving competition against Big 12 opponent BYU, earning first in the Men's 3M and Platform events and tallying 18 points for the Wildcats in their 240-107 victory over the Cougars.
Daleiden and DuBois will return to Hillenbrand to compete against the men's squad from Harvard University on Friday, Jan. 10.
