Arizona Falls at West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W.V. - Arizona soccer dropped its Big 12 road contest Thursday night, falling 3–0 to West Virginia at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.

The Wildcats (7–5–0, 2–2–0 Big 12) were limited to four total shots, two of which were on frame, as the Mountaineers (7–2–2, 2–0–2) controlled possession and tallied goals in both halves.

West Virginia opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Maddie Levy finished off a pass from Taylor White for her fourth goal of the season. White then took over after halftime, striking in the 53rd and 61st minutes -- first off a feed from Jacey Rase and then converting a setup by Ajanae Respass – to secure the brace.

Arizona goalkeeper Olivia Ramey recorded three saves, including a pair in the opening half to keep the Wildcats within reach. Sami Baytosh and Narissa Fults produced the team's first-half shots on goal, both turned away by WVU's Bailey Herfurth, who earned the shutout with two saves.

The Wildcats created four corner opportunities and saw late chances from Jessica Bedolla and Mireya Stephenson, but could not break through against a Mountaineer back line that conceded just four shots all match.

West Virginia held a 16–4 advantage in shots and 60 percent of possession while extending its unbeaten run to four matches.
