Arizona Women’s Basketball Signs 6’6 Center Callie Hinder

TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona women's basketball head coach Becky Burke announced the signing of Callie Hinder, a 6-foot-6 center from Chandler, Arizona, by way of Sydney, Australia, as part of the Wildcats' 2026 recruiting class.

Hinder will join the Wildcats as one of the top post prospects in the nation, ranked No. 2 overall in the state of Arizona. She recently helped lead Phoenix PHH Prep to the 2025 CAA State Championship and was named 6A Arizona Defensive Player of the Year in both 2023 and 2024.

"I picked Arizona because the second I got to campus, I felt right at home," Hinder said. "I love what Coach Burke is building, and I'm so excited to be a part of it."

Internationally, Hinder earned a silver medal with Australia's U19 Gems at the 2025 FIBA World Cup and received a prestigious scholarship to train at the country's Center of Excellence. Off the court, she was named to the 2024 Arizona All-Academic Team.

"Callie is a legitimate 6'6, and will give us the size, skill, and physicality in the post that we are in need of for years to come! I'm excited for Callie to join us in December and develop and learn our system for a semester so she's ready for an immediate impact next season," said Burke.

"She's an Arizona kid that will take a tremendous amount of pride in wearing the block A and we couldn't be happier that she's a Wildcat. "
