ARLINGTON, Texas — The Arizona Wildcats (0-1) narrowly dropped their opening game of the 2025 season on Friday night, a 2-1 decision against the Ole Miss Rebels (1-0) at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
Arizona's pitching put forth a strong effort, with right-handers
Collin McKinney and
Casey Hintz combining to limit the Rebels to just two runs on six hits while striking out seven.
McKinney, making his Arizona debut, worked 4+ innings and allowed just one run while striking out three but took the loss.
The Wildcats lone run came from the bat of shortstop
Mason White, who launched his first home run of the year 10 rows deep into right field.
