TUCSON, Ariz. - The Wildcats claimed another at home victory against Utah. This 4-0 win marked their second Big 12 conference matchup.
The Cats started of strong by claiming the doubles point early on with wins on court 1 and 3. Danielle Tuhten and Josie Usereau got the first win of the afternoon 6-1. Following was Midori Castillo-Meza and Belen Nevenhoven 6-1 making sure Arizona started their lead off early.
Arizona soon clinched the win as three of their singles matches all dominated in two sets. On court 5, Tanvi Narendran posted the first singles victory 6-0, 6-1. Freshman, Stephanie, Shogreen extended the lead for the Wildcats with a 6-2, 6-1 win. To secure the final point for Arizona, Danielle Tuhten clinched the match after defeating Emma Valleta (UTAH) 6-4. 6-1. The rest of the matches stayed unfinished with Josie Usereau's score standing at 1-6, 5-6, Midori's at 6-3, 3-2, and Martyna Ostryzgalo at 2-6, 6-1.
This victory leads the Cats into their third conference match. Arizona hits to road to compete against No.54 Iowa State. This match will take place in Friday, Mar. 7 at 3:00 PM (MST) in Ames, Iowa.
