LAWRENCE, Kan. – The No. 31 Arizona Wildcats secured a 4-2 victory over No. 49 Kansas on Sunday afternoon at the Jayhawk Tennis Center.
Arizona started strong in doubles play, with Danielle Tuhten and Josie Usereau earning a 6-2 win over He Janse van Vuuren and Gracie Mulville (KU) on court one. However, Kansas claimed victories on courts two and three, securing the doubles point and an early 1-0 lead.
The Wildcats bounced back in singles action, winning four of five completed matches. Usereau defeated Gracie Mulville (KU) 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 on court one, while Martyna Ostrzygalo rallied to beat Kyoka Kubo (KU) 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 on court three. Danielle Tuhten added a straight-set victory over He Janse van Vuuren (KU) 6-3, 6-3 on court four, and Tanvi Narendran secured the match for Arizona with a hard-fought 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 win over Meriem Ben Ezzedine (KU) on court five.
The Wildcats will return home for their next match, facing Cincinnati on Friday, March 14, at Robson Tennis Center.
