AZUSA, Calif. & WALNUT, Calif. – Arizona Track & Field completed day one of the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Mt. SAC Relays on Thursday.

The Wildcats kicked off a busy weekend of competition on Thursday with the javelin at the Mt. SAC Relays and the 800m and 5000m at the Bryan Clay Invitational.

MT. SAC RELAYS
FIELD HIGHLIGHTS
Jesse Avina placed fourth overall in the men's elite javelin with a throw of 219-11 (67.05m). His best throw came on his last attempt of the competition.

Erin Tack finished fifth overall in the women's collegiate javelin with a throw of 147-3 (44.89m).
Aislin Martinez-Pompa also placed ninth in the event.

BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL
TRACK HIGHLIGHTS
The Wildcats started the day early with the 5000m. Freshman
Brooklyn Hanania clocked a personal best time in the women's open 5000m of 17:10.45.
Michael Urbanski ran a personal best time of 14:32.81 in the men's open 5000m and finished fourth in his heat.

In the women's invite 800m,
Kara Mickelson ran a big personal best time of 2:07.60 to place fourth in her heat. That time moves Mickelson up to eighth all-time in UA school history in the event. It is her first time going sub-2:08.

In the men's invite 800m,
Noah Ray clocked a personal best time of 1:50.27 to finish second in his heat. José Rodríguez posted a time of 1:51.39 in the event as well.

Both the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Mt. SAC Relays continue Friday for the Wildcats. The team begins competing at the Bryan Clay Invitational at 8:30 a.m. MST and at the Mt. SAC Relays at 9:00 a.m. MST. Live results for Bryan Clay can be found
