TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 13 Arizona improved to 39-9 on the season following a doubleheader sweep of New Mexico State on Tuesday afternoon.

The Cats shutout the Aggies in both games and blasted six home runs in the second game.
Sydney Stewart hit three home runs in the second game to become the second Wildcat this season to accomplish the feat.

The Cats won the first game, 3-0, over the Aggies. Arizona recorded six hits and
Tayler Biehl and
Dakota Kennedy both went 2-for-3.

Arizona scored its three runs in the second inning. Biehl singled on a bunt and a throwing error allowed Biehl, Stewart, and Sniffen to score on the play. Â

Devyn Netz picked up the win in the circle to improve to 18-5. She pitched the final four innings in relief and allowed just one hit while striking out four Aggies.
Saya Swain started and went three innings, striking out two players and allowing one hit.

Arizona run-ruled NMSU in the second game, 13-0, in five innings. The Wildcats exploded offensively with 15 hits, six of which were home runs. Stewart went 3-for-3 with three homers while Netz, Sniffen, and
Emily Schepp had one home run each.

The Cats opened the game with three runs to take an early lead. Netz doubled in the first run and Stewart followed with her first home run of the game – a two-run shot to right center.

In the second inning, Arizona plated two to take a 5-0 lead over NMSU. Sniffen drove in both runs with a two-run homer – her sixth of the season.

Arizona scored four in the third to extend its lead to 9-0. Stewart drove in the first two runs of the inning with her second home run of the game and Schepp hit a solo homer. The fourth run of the inning came home on an Aggie fielding error.

The Cats took a 13-0 lead after scoring four runs in the fourth inning. Netz her a two-run home run and Stewart hit a solo homer – her third of the game. Schepp drove in Arizona's final run of the game with a sacrifice fly.

Miranda Stoddard earned the win to improve to 10-0 on the season. She allowed four hits but held NMSU scoreless.
Ryan Maddox pitched the final inning in relief and retired all three batters she faced. Â
