SAN DIEGO, Calif. – No. 13 Arizona shutout San Diego State in the first game of the weekend, 1-0, on Friday night.
Devyn Netz led the Cats to the win with a home run and a complete game in the circle.
The Wildcats' offense tallied five hits led by
Regan Shockey who went 2-for-3 at the plate.
In a pitcher's duel, both teams threatened but couldn't score through six innings.
Regan Shockey kept the Aztecs scoreless with a home run robbery in the third inning.
Netz put the Cats on the board and helped her own cause with a solo home run – her 17th of the season – to lead off the seventh inning. In the bottom of the seventh, she struck out the final two batters to secure the victory for Arizona.
In the circle, Netz (19-5) picked up her 19th win with a complete game shutout over the Aztecs. She struck out five and allowed just three hits.
