Arizona Women’s Basketball Adds Kansas Transfer Freddie Wallace

TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Women's Basketball head coach Becky Burke announced the addition of Freddie Wallace, a 6-foot-2 forward and two-time junior college All-American, to the Wildcats' 2025–26 roster. Wallace transfers to Arizona from the University of Kansas, where she did not play the 2024–25 season due to medical reasons.

Before her time at Kansas, Wallace starred at Butler Community College (Kan.), where she became the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,138 points across two seasons. She was named a third-team NJCAA All-American as a freshman and earned second-team honors in 2023–24, averaging 18.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and shooting 47.2 percent from the field. She scored 20+ points in 14 games during her sophomore year and helped guide Butler to the Region VI title game.

Wallace started 63 games during her JUCO career and averaged 17.8 points and 7.1 rebounds while playing just 27 minutes per game. She is the second 6-foot-plus transfer addition under Coach Burke, bringing valuable size, scoring versatility, and experience to Arizona's front court heading into Year Two in the Big 12.

A Lincoln, Nebraska native, Wallace describes her game as fast and aggressive. She grew up inspired by WNBA legend Maya Moore and credits her mother as her greatest role model. Her jersey number, she says, is her lucky number.

Wallace will have two years of eligibility remaining.
