TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Softball's Devyn Netz has been named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, announced by the conference on Tuesday.
 
Netz guided Arizona in the circle and at the plate to a 3-1 record against New Mexico State and San Diego State last week. She led the team with a 2-0 record in 12.2 innings pitched and tossed her sixth complete game of the season. Netz did not allow a run to score and held opponents to a .114 batting average. Offensively, Netz led the Wildcats with five hits and recorded a .417 batting average with two home runs and four RBI during the week.
 
The fifth year senior picked up her first win of the week in Arizona's first win over NMSU. She kept the Aggies scoreless and struck out four batters through four innings of work. In Arizona's run-rule win over NMSU, Netz went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. Against SDSU, she pitched a complete-game shutout, struck out five, and hit a solo home run in Arizona's 1-0 win over the Aztecs. Additionally, Netz led the Cats with nine total strikeouts and a 1.417 OPS during the week.
 
Heading into the final week of the regular season, Netz leads the Big 12 and ranks seventh in the nation in walks allowed per seven innings (1.00). She ranks second in the conference in victories (19), strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.44), home runs (17), RBI (58), and RBI per game (1.21).
 
Netz and the Wildcats will head to Houston a three-game series beginning Friday, May 2 to close out the regular season.
