TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Softball was selected as the No. 13 national seed and will begin its NCAA Tournament journey by hosting the Tucson Regional, as Hillenbrand Stadium has been selected to host the first round of the NCAA Softball Tournament. The Tucson Regional will be played from Friday, May 16 through Sunday, May 18 and Ole Miss, Grand Canyon, and Santa Clara will head to Tucson for the regional. Â
The Wildcats' postseason appearance marks Arizona's 37th selection all-time and is the 27th time in program history that Arizona will host a regional. The last time Arizona hosted a regional was in 2021 and the Wildcats swept the Tucson Regional.

Arizona will take on four-seeded Santa Clara at 4:30 p.m. MST on ESPN+ to open the regional. Two-seed Ole Miss and three-seed Grand Canyon will play at 7 p.m. MST on ESPNU on Friday night.

The winners of Friday's games will meet on Saturday in the third game of the Tucson Regional while Friday's non-advancing teams will play in game 4. The loser of game 3 and the winner of game 4 will meet on Saturday for a spot in the regional final.
Sunday will be the regional final with the if-necessary seventh game to begin after the conclusion of the first game on Sunday.

The Wildcats are heading into the NCAA Tournament with a 45-11 (17-7 Big 12) record. Arizona has one of the most dominant offenses in the nation which is ranked eighth in batting average (.347), 10th in hits (507), and 19th in home runs (74). The Wildcats also boast one of the best defenses in the nation that leads the Big 12 and is ranked 18th in the NCAA with a .974 overall fielding percentage. Arizona has made 30 double plays which ranks second in the conference.

Last week, the Wildcats placed seven players on the All-Big 12 teams led by
Devyn Netz who was named the Big 12 Player of the Year. Netz,
Dakota Kennedy,
Miranda Stoddard, and
Sydney Stewart earned first-team all-conference honors while
Kaiah Altmeyer,
Regan Shockey, and
Jenna Sniffen were named to the All-Big 12 second team. Netz and Kennedy picked up all-defensive team honors and Sniffen was name to the all-freshmen team.

Arizona has advanced out of 33 of the 36 regionals since 1987 and owns an 104-12 record in the round overall. Arizona has advanced to the super regional round in 17 of the 18 seasons since they began in 2005.
