Arizona will play the winner of tomorrow's game between Oklahoma and North Carolina in the Chapel Hill Regional.
Following a program-record performance on Saturday, the Wildcats bats were at it again on Sunday in the regional final. Arizona tallied 13 hits, six of which were home runs, and drew five walks en route to the 14-0 rout.
Center fielder Aaron Walton led the way with his first career three-home run performance, with third baseman Maddox Mihalakis not far behind with two for the first multi-homer game of his career. First baseman Tommy Splaine also joined the party with a blast of his own, giving Arizona 15 home runs in the Eugene Regional.
Starting pitcher Smith Bailey was dominant for the Cats, working six scoreless innings while allowing just four hits and issuing five strikeouts. The freshman earned the win to improve to 3-3 on the year.
The relief trio of Hunter Alberini, Julian Tonghini, and Matthew Martinez followed suit and tossed three shutout frames. Arizona has now earned four shutout victories this season.
