EUGENE, Ore. – Arizona Track & Field hurdler
Zach Extine finished second in his heat, 5th overall, to advance to the men's 110m hurdles Final at Hayward Field in Eugene.
Zach Extine ran a 13.23 to finish second in heat three and fifth overall, earning an automatic qualifying spot in the men's 110m hurdles final on Friday.
Zach Landa earned Second-Team All-American Honors with a 10th-place finish in the men's shot put (19.05m/62-6).
Reinaldo Rodrigues earned Second-Team All-American with a leap of 7.69m/25-2 ¾ in the men's long jump to finish 13th.
Jesse Avina finished 19th in the men's javelin with a throw of 65.49m/214-10, grabbing Honorable Mention All-American.
The men's 4x100m relay team of
James Onanubosi,
Brian Limage,
Isaac Davis, and
Tyson Tippett did not finish to open Day 1 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Extine will be back on the track on Friday at 5:42 p.m. MST in the 110m hurdles final, looking to win his first national title in the event. With the berth into the final, Extine has earned First-Team All-American Honors.
Youssef Koudssi will be in action on Friday in the men's discus finals to begin Day 3 at 2:15 p.m. MST.
