TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Softball's
Grace Jenkins,
Regan Shockey, and
Sydney Stewart have been named to the USA Softball Player of the Year Top 50 Watch List, announced on Wednesday by USA Softball.
Jenkins, a senior from Folsom, Cailfornia, is making her first appearance on the Watch List. The utility player joins Arizona this season after spending three years at UConn where she earned BIG EAST Player of the Year honors last season. In 2025, Jenkins broke multiple UConn single season records with 19 doubles, 21 home runs, 68 RBI, 65 runs scored, 39 walks, and 154 total bases. She also hit .424 last season for the Huskies which ranked second in UConn history.
Shockey, a junior from Chino Hills, California, is making her second appearance on the Top 50 Watch List. The centerfielder led Arizona with 88 hits and 20 stolen bases last season to earn NFCA All-Region and All-Big 12 honors. Shockey recorded a .415 batting average, 57 runs scored, and a .432 on-base percentage during the 2025 season.
Stewart, a senior from San Jose, California, is also making her first appearance on the Top 50 Watch List. Last season, the catcher earned NFCA All-American second team honors after leading Arizona with 20 home runs, 68 RBI, a .819 slugging percentage, 48 walks, and a .542 on-base percentage. Stewart also tied the program record for home runs in a single game when she hit three home runs against New Mexico State during the 2025 season.
Arizona will open the 2026 season with the fifth-annual Candrea Classic at Hillenbrand Stadium on February 5-8. The Cats will host Southern Utah for a doubleheader on Feb. 5 followed by a three-game series with Oklahoma Feb. 6-8.
