Box Score WACO, Texas — No. 2 Arizona rallied from a halftime deficit with a dominant second-half surge to defeat Baylor 87–80 on Tuesday night at Foster Pavilion, extending its strong season with another statement road win.
Trailing 41–34 at the break, Arizona flipped the game with a 53-point second half fueled by efficient shooting and relentless work on the glass. The Wildcats shot 54.5% after halftime and finished at 49.2% overall, while also converting 18 of 23 free throws to seal the victory.
Jaden Bradley led the charge with 25 points, knocking down a career-high five 3-pointers while adding six assists and six rebounds in a poised floor performance. Brayden Burries complemented him with 24 points, attacking the rim and getting to the line frequently, while Motiejus Krivas added 12 points and helped anchor the interior.
It marks the sixth time this season that Arizona has had two players score 20 or more points in the same game, and the second time it was Burries and Bradley.
Arizona's frontcourt made a significant impact, particularly on second-chance opportunities. The Wildcats outrebounded Baylor 37–30 and turned that advantage into a 25–14 edge in second-chance points. Tobe Awaka was instrumental in that effort, finishing with 13 rebounds and 10 points to record a double-double for his 16th career double-double and fifth of the season.
Baylor controlled much of the first half, building a lead that reached as many as nine points behind efficient shooting and strong interior scoring. Cameron Carr paced the Bears with 26 points, while Isaac Williams added 16. However, Baylor cooled off in the second half, shooting just 45.2% and struggling to contain Arizona's momentum.
The turning point came early in the second half. After Baylor pushed its lead to 10 in the opening minute, Arizona responded with a sustained run fueled by defensive stops and improved shot selection. The Wildcats steadily chipped away before taking control midway through the half.
The Wildcats' balanced attack and composure down the stretch helped them maintain the lead despite 14 lead changes and 10 ties throughout the contest.
With the win, Arizona improved to 26–2 overall and 13–2 in conference play, continuing to position itself as one of the top teams in the country. Baylor, meanwhile, fell to 14–14 and 4–11 in conference play.
Arizona will look to carry momentum as they return home on Saturday, February 28th as they take on No. 14 Kansas at 2:00 MST. The game will be televised on ESPN.
