TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona baseball player Jack Lafflam was one of 19 freshmen across the country named to Baseball America's Preseason College Freshman of the Year Watch List, the organization announced Tuesday.
Lafflam, a 6-foot-6, 192-pound right-handed pitcher from Scottsdale, Arizona was rated as the No. 68 overall prospect and No. 17 right-handed pitcher in the nation for the Class of 2025 by Perfect Game. Perfect Game also ranked Lafflam as the No. 3 overall prospect and No. 2 right-handed pitcher in Arizona.
Lafflam attended Brophy College Prep prior to joining Arizona this past fall, and he was a three-time Perfect Game Preseason Underclass All-American (2022, 2023, 2024), and he was named to the 2024 Perfect Game All-American Classic.Â
Arizona is set to begin the 2026 campaign next Friday, February 13 against Stanford at the College Baseball Series in Surprise, Arizona.
