1-Seed Arizona Draws LIU in the NCAA Tournament

TUCSON, Ariz. - The bracket for the 2026 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship was unveiled on Sunday and the Arizona Men's basketball team was chosen as a 1-seed in the West Region. It is the eighth time the Wildcats have been a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Wildcats will play their First Round game on Friday, March 20 at 10:35 a.m. MST against No. 16 seed LIU at Viejas Arena in San Diego, Calif.

Arizona has been selected for the NCAA Tournament all five years under head coach Tommy Lloyd and it is the second time the Wildcats have been chosen as a 1-seed under his tenure.

This will be the third time Arizona has played in the NCAA Tournament in San Diego and coincidentally, Arizona has been a 1-seed each time. The last time was during Lloyd's first season in 2022 where top-seeded Arizona defeated Wright State in the First Round before taking down 9-seed TCU in an overtime thriller.

Before that, the 2013-14 Arizona Wildcats cruised past Weber State and Gonzaga in the first and second rounds.
