TUCSON, Ariz. - University of Arizona baseball player Owen Kramkowski has been named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week following a sensational outing against Fresno State this past Friday.
The honor marks the first Big 12 Pitcher of the Week award of Kramkowski's career.
Kramkowski delivered a career outing in Arizona's series opener against Fresno State, tossing six scoreless innings while striking out a career-high 12 batters.The junior from Sahuarita, Arizona allowed just five hits and did not issue a walk in the dominant outing.
Kramkowski was rewarded with the victory, as the Wildcats went on to earn a 6-0 win over the Bulldogs, marking the first time this season that Fresno State has been shut out in a game.
Arizona swept Fresno State to improve their overall record to 6-9, and the Wildcats will travel to face Arizona State on Tuesday night, before hitting the road to open Big 12 play at Utah on Friday night.
