2013: Redshirted the indoor and outdoor season.
2012 (XC): Parkes ran the 8,000-meter race at the George Kyte Classic, clocking a time of 27:59.0 and finishing in 36th place overall, fourth among UA runners … At the Dave Murray Invitational, he was the seventh Wildcat to cross the finish line and 23rd finisher overall … He ran the 4.25-mile race in 22:57 … Parkes completed the 8K at the Grand Canyon Invitational in 26:17.7, taking 29th place overall and was the second Wildcat to finish.
HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Poway High School, Parkes was the team captain his junior and senior year as well as the team MVP his junior year … He earned second-team all-district honors his junior year.
PERSONAL: He is the son of Mike and Carol Parkes and was born in Poway, Calif. … He has a brother, Brent and a sister, Brianna … He is pursuing a degree in business.
