Tyler Osborne joined Arizona’s coaching staff in March of 2026. Osborne was named to the AFCA 35 Under 35 Leadership Institute in December 2022. In August of 2023, Osborne was named to 247Sports 2023 30 Under 30 class, recognizing college football’s best coaches and personnel under the age of 30 each year. Later in August of 2023, Osborne was ranked as the top recruiter in the Pac-12, per 247Sports.
Osborne came to Arizona after spending the previous three seasons as Stanford’s Wide Receivers Coach and Assistant Quarterbacks Coach from 2023 to 2025. Osborne also held the title of Passing Game Coordinator for the 2025 season. In 2025, Stanford improved 32 spots nationally amongst the FBS in passing yards per game compared to the previous season. While at Stanford, Osborne had a wide receiver earn All-Conference honors each season and multiple NFL Draft picks.
The most notable wide receiver Osborne coached at Stanford was Elic Ayomanor. In 2023, Ayomanor led the nation amongst all freshmen in receiving yards per game and ranked fourth overall in the Pac-12 after recording 62 receptions for 1,013 yards. In addition, Ayomanor’s 84.4 receiving yards per game was the most in the country for a freshman wide receiver over the past 5 years. He set the single-game program record for receiving yards in a game with 294 yards in a comeback win at Colorado. Ayomanor that year was named Freshman First Team All-American (PFF) and received All-Pac-12 honorable mention honors. In 2024, Elic Ayomanor received all-conference honors for the second year in a row, as he was named to the ACC Second Team as a wide receiver. He finished that season second in the country in receiving yards per game amongst all sophomores. Ayomanor both years was named to the Fred Biletnikoff Award watchlist, given annually to the best receiver in college football. Ayomanor went on to be drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
In addition to Ayomanor, Osborne coached multiple other wide receivers at Stanford to successful seasons. In 2025, CJ Williams was one of the ACC’s top receivers and received All-ACC honorable mention honors after recording 59 receptions for 749 yards and six touchdowns. Williams also topped 100-yards receiving four times on the year. Williams went on to be drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2026 NFL Draft. In 2024, Emmett Mosley V finished the season fifth in the country in receiving yards per game amongst all freshmen. Mosley also caught 13 passes for 168 yards and three touchdowns in a ranked win over Louisville. His 13 catches and three receiving touchdowns are the most in a single game by a true freshman in Stanford history. In 2023, wide receiver Tiger Bachmeier led the Pac-12 in receptions and receiving yards by a true freshman. Bachmeier ranked seventh and ninth in the NCAA that year in both categories, respectively.
Osborne also elevated the Cardinal's recruiting prowess in his time on The Farm. Osborne was ranked as the top recruiter in the Pac-12 by 247Sports in August of 2023, as well as ranked 7th nationally at that time. He also finished ranked as a top ten recruiter in the ACC for both the 2025 and 2026 classes. He was Stanford’s top ranked recruiter on staff for the class of 2024, 2025, and 2026 and was responsible for signing Stanford’s top overall rated recruit in all three classes as well. JonAnthony Hall, at the time of his commitment to Stanford, was ranked the 49th overall player in the country by 247Sports, which is the highest-rated wide receiver to ever commit and sign to Stanford. In addition, Osborne was integral in the signing of Elijah Brown, a four-star recruit ranked amongst the top quarterbacks in the country. Osborne also signed four-star quarterback Bear Bachmeier, who was named a Freshman All-American in 2025 after transferring to BYU.
Prior to Stanford, Osborne was Sacramento State’s wide receivers coach from 2019-22, helping the program to a 23-1 record in conference action in three seasons, with three Big Sky championships, and three Top-10 finishes nationally. Osborne coached wide receiver Pierre Williams to Big Sky Conference first team honors all three seasons.
In 2019, Osborne coached a group of receivers that combined with Hornet quarterbacks to set the school record for passing yards in a single season (3,832). In 2019, Pierre Williams had a team-high 931 receiving yards on 54 catches, while nine different wide receivers caught passes during the year and combined for 18 touchdown receptions. In 2021, Williams again led the team in receiving after catching 50 passes for 764 yards and three touchdowns. The freshmen trio of Chris Miller, Jared Gipson, and Devin Gandy all saw significant action in their collegiate debut season, combining for 59 receptions for 1,003 yards and five TDs as well. In 2022, Williams led all Hornet wide receivers with 47 catches for 723 yards and nine touchdowns.
Additionally, Osborne had success recruiting while at Sacramento State. He recruited and coached wide receiver Jared Gipson, who received All-Big Sky honors twice during his career and later went on to sign with the B.C. Lions in the CFL. Osborne also recruited wide receiver Danny Scudero to Sacramento State. Scudero went on to lead the FBS in receiving yards per game in 2025 after transferring to San Jose State.
Osborne previously served as a graduate assistant coach at Washington in 2017 and 2018. In that role, he worked closely with the Husky wide receivers and was part of a staff that won 10 games both years. The 2017 team played in the Fiesta Bowl while the 2018 team won the Pac-12 title and moved on to the Rose Bowl. In 2017, Washington ranked 17th in the country in scoring offense. During his final season with the Huskies, Osborne helped coach a pair of receivers who had at least 55 catches and nearly 600 receiving yards during the year. He also coached Dante Pettis in 2017 before he was selected 44th overall by the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL Draft.
Osborne came to Washington after spending five years at Oregon. He started in 2012 as an undergraduate assistant coach for four years before serving as an offensive analyst, focusing on quarterbacks, in 2016. As an undergrad, Osborne spent his first season directly under Chip Kelly and assisted him in coaching the slot receivers. The next four seasons, he assisted coaching the Ducks’ quarterbacks. During that time, he helped coach Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota, Vernon Adams, and Justin Herbert. Mariota and Herbert both ended up being drafted top-10 overall, Mariota second to the Titans and Herbert sixth overall to the Chargers.
During his time on the Oregon staff, the Ducks went to a CFP national championship game, a Rose Bowl, a Fiesta Bowl, and two Alamo Bowls. Oregon ranked in the top five nationally four years in a row (2012-2015) in both scoring offense and total offense.
Osborne is the son of longtime college football coach Tom Osborne, a former Washington State wide receiver who spent 36 seasons coaching at Washington State, Portland State, Boise State, Arizona State, and Oregon. The elder Osborne was known mostly as the Ducks’ tight ends and special teams coach for 16 seasons over two stretches.
He attended Sheldon High in Eugene, Ore., where he played football and baseball. A wide receiver, quarterback, and defensive back on the football team, he helped Sheldon to the state title game in 2011.
Osborne earned a degree in finance and sports business from Oregon in 2016. He completed his master’s degree in intercollegiate athletics leadership at Washington in June of 2018. He and his wife, Anneke, live in Tucson.
