2017-18: Holds the fastest team time in the 200 breast with 1:54.77…Had the second fastest time on the team in the 100 breast (54.56) and 400 IM (3:44.69)…Finished in the top-three fifteen times this season, including four victories in various events…Holds the seventh-fastest time in school history in the 200 breast (1:54.77) and 400 IM (3:44.69), both at Pac-12 Championships…

High School: A four-time first team All-Conference member…State champion in the 500 free sophomore and senior year…Holds the 200 IM state record and 100 breast school record…All-State first team sophomore, junior, and senior year.
Personal: Born Samuel Naosnke Iida to Steve and Kris Iida in January of 1999…Has a brother, Max and sister, Katie…Plans to major in Education because his fifth grade teacher had such a huge impact on his life…Enjoys napping in his free time…Chose Arizona over Michigan, Auburn, UNC, ASU, and Indiana because “the team accepted him immediately and it was a natural unity of people”
