  • Has battled torn ACLs in each of her knees during her career, her right ACL costing her true freshman season (2016) and her left ACL costing her UA’s 2017 postseason

High School
  • A four-year letterwinner at Mission Viejo High School under Troy Ybarra as well as aunt and former Wildcat Toni Mascarenas along with classmate and fellow Wildcat Taylor McQuillin
  • The Orange County home run queen both in a career (58) and in a season (18)
  • Competed for the U.S. Junior National Team, helping it to a 10-0 record and gold medal in the Junior World Women’s Championship
  • Set the Junior World Women’s Championship record for RBI with 27 in the 10-game tournament, shattering Stacey Nuveman’s 20-year-old record of 18
  • Palomino also hit five homers to tie Nuveman’s record
  • A first-team high school All-American as a junior and senior
  • Helped lead Mission to a national championship in 2014 and state runner-up in 2015
  • Won three national titles with her club team, OC Batbusters.

  • Born Alyssa Palomino in May of 1997
  • Mother Leslie Cardoza is a nurse and father Jesse Cardoza in an engineer
  • Has two brothers (Jordan and Carlos) and two sisters (Kayla and Kali)
  • Aunt Toni Masceranas played at Arizona from 1998-2001 and is 10th in Arizona history in hits (293) and sixth in RBI (245)
  • Plans to major in criminal justice at Arizona to pursue a career as an FBI agent
  • Loves to read in her free time
  • Chose Arizona over Florida and UCLA because she “fell in love with the campus and loved the coaches.”
