Indoors: Competed in seven events throughout the indoor season … Finished in 49th place in the mile and 66th in the 3,000-meter events at the UW Invitational … Posted a career low time of 8:19.84 in the 3,000-meter to finish in 30th place and tagged a 25th finish in the 5,000-meter at the MPSF Championships … Tabbed a 39th place finish in the 5,000-meter and 83rd in the 3,000-meter at the Husky Classic … Finished in 24th place in the 3,000-meter at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
Outdoors: Competed in five outings, placing in the top-3 on three occasions … Tabbed a third place finish in the 1,500-meter at the Willie Williams Classic, marking a career low time of 3:55.48 …. Recorded a 3:55.81 in the 1,500-meter at the Duel in the Desert to finish second … Finished first in the 3,000-meter at the Jim Click Shootout … Tabbed a 14th place finish at the Stanford Invitational in the 5,000-meter … Finished 18th in the 5,000-meter at the Pac-12 Championships.
2016 (XC): While only competing in three events, Davila was a bright spot in the Wildcat’s 2016 campaign. In all three races Davila managed to finish in the top-three on the team. He took ninth-place at the Dave Murray Invitational and finished his season with a 58th-place finish at the Pac-12 championships.
2016: Indoors, Davila competed in both the 800-meter race and the mile over the 2016 indoor campaign. As a freshman, he set personal-best marks in the 800-meter at the Husky Classic with a time of 1:55.31 and in the mile-run at the Power 5 Invitational with a time of 4:13.55. Additionally, he was apart of the distance medley relay team that took ninth at the MPSF Championships with a time of 10:10.77. Outdoors, Davila kept it diverse in the outdoor campaign as he competed in four total running events: the 800-meter, 1,500-meter, 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter races. He set a personal-best in the 800-meter with a time of 1:56.24 at the ASU Duel in the Desert for a seventh-place finish. In the 1,500-meter he set a personal-best time of 3:57.68 at the ASU Duel in the Desert for a sixth-place finish. Davila went on to set a personal-best time in the 3,000-meter with a time of 8:35.33 at the Jim Bush Invite for a fourth-place finish. At the Pac-12 Championships Davila set a personal-best in the 5,000-meter race at 14:52.29 for a 34th-place finish.
HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Kelly Walsh High School, Hunter lettered in cross country and track & field four times … A 13-time state champion between indoor/outdoor track and three time first-team All-Conference selection … Holds the school record for the three mile and five mile race for cross country … Also owns the school record in the 800m, 1600m, 3200m and was a member of the 4x800m relay team that broke the school record … Was a first-team All-State selection twice for cross country, twice for indoor and three times for outdoor … He was the team’s most valuable player during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons while being named a captain during his senior season.
PERSONAL: He is the son of Yannio Davila and Keturah Hicks … The Casper, WY native has one sister, Austyn … Will be majoring in Business Administration.
