CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP)- Leilani Estavan had 20 points, nine assists and six
steals as Oregon State beat No. 24 Arizona 71-65 in overtime Thursday night.
Oregon State (11-8, 5-5 Pac-10) also got 19 points from Hollye Chapman and
14 from Casey Bunn.
Shawntinice Polk led Arizona (13-6, 6-4) with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
In a sloppy first half, the Beavers committed 16 turnovers and Polk was
largely ineffective, scoring just three points. Oregon State led briefly 19-15
at 10:15, but the Wildcats went on a 10-2 run to take a 29-23 halftime lead.
Oregon State held a 22-8 rebounding edge at the break.
The Beavers went on an 8-0 run to open up the second half, and led 54-50 at
5:55 on Bunn's three-point play. Tied at 58, Arizona went ahead on Aimee
Grzyb's three-point play with 2:19 left.
But Brina Chaney hit a jumper to make it 61-60 and Estavan hit a free throw
to tie the game. Oregon State had a chance to win in regulation but Estavan
drove into the key and threw up an airball.
The Beavers outscored Arizona 10-4 in overtime.
